We provide coffee, coffee filters, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dish washing soap, and salt and pepper.  Bathroom amenities provide for all reservations include bath soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion.

Additional kitchen items such as cooking oil, spices, and similar kitchen stock items are not specifically provided for rentals, however will frequently be found in units from previous guests.

Single-use laundry soap and dryer sheets are available for purchase at the reception during business hours.

The Edelweiss does not provide daily housekeeping services for its guests.  Linens and bathroom amenities will be replaced upon request.  Additional mid-stay cleaning services can be requested and may be available for a fee.  Cleaning upon the completion of a guests visit is included in the rental rates with no additional fee. In the even of excessive cleaning required after a guest stay, excess cleaning charges may be applied to the card on file.

We get this question all the time.  Taos Ski Valley is located at 9,500 feet above sea level and in the winter receives frequent snow storms (we hope).  No matter where you are coming from the vast majority of your trip to Taos Ski Valley will be on highways and roads below 7,000 feet where snow is much rarer.  The last 12 miles of your trip however from the town of Taos to Taos Ski Valley on highway 150 is where you will climb into the mountains where snow and more difficult driving conditions are more common.  This stretch of road is our “lifeline” where nearly everyone who works in TSV (not mention all our guests) drives up and down everyday so it is generally well plowed and sanded for traffic.  Generally a 4 wheel drive vehicle will not be needed but there may be times in the middle of a big storm and between plow runs where that highway can be a little “tricky”.  Generally a front wheel drive vehicle and a little extra care will get you here without issues.

There are a number of shuttle services operating between Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Taos.  We are happy to provide additional information about shuttles and help arrange for transportation.  See more information on shuttles and transportation options here .

The Edelweiss is located 155 miles from the Albuquerque International Airport (ABQ) with a driving time of roughly 3 hours.  The Santa Fe Municipal Airport (SAF) is 100 miles from the Edelweiss with a driving time of 2 hours.  The Taos Regional Airport (SKX) offers private aviation service and limited charter on JSX Airlines. The Taos Regional Airport is located 20 miles from the Edelweiss with a driving time of just 25 minutes.

JSX Airline offers direct flights to the Taos Regional Airport via Taos Air from Denver, Las Vegas, Dallas, Austin, Burbank, and Carlsbad, Ca..  These are charter flights and include shuttle service to and from Taos Ski Valley from the local airport.  Schedules and more information can be found at the JSX website.

Absolutely.  If our concierge staff are provided with enough advanced notice, we can virtually assure that any specific alcohol requests are met.

The Edelweiss Lodge & Spa does not allow guests to bring pets into the property.  All the units at the Edelweiss are privately owned by individuals and the Homeowners Association has declared that guests are not allowed to bring pets.  This policy is designed to assure that guests with pet allergies are assured of a pet free environment.  Note however that on occasion owners may bring pets into the building and their personal units so guests may encounter pets on the premises.

Our spa is open daily by appointment from 11am to 7pm.  We highly recommend advanced reservations especially during peak periods and in the summer to assure availability of a therapist.  Appointments outside of these regular hours are frequently possible with advanced notice/reservations.  In the summer we ask that all appointments be made in advance as therapist availability is reduced in the summer months.

The Edelweiss fitness center is open every from 8am to 9pm.

The bar at the Blonde Bear Tavern is open during the winter ski season only.  Its hours of operation are from 3pm until closing each Thursday through Tuesday evenings.  There is bar service on Wednesday evenings with no food service.

The Blonde Bear Tavern is open during the winter ski season only.  Its hours of operation are from 3pm until closing each Thursday through Tuesday with the kitchen generally closing at 9pm (or later during peak periods).  The Blonde Bear Café is open each Friday through Monday for breakfast during the ski season from 7:30am to 11:30am.  In the summer the Café is open each Friday through Monday from 8am to 2pm for breakfast and lunch (Memorial Day to mid-September).

All Edelweiss units are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, and bar soap for each rental with replacements provided as required.  Additional toiletries are available from the front desk including tooth brushes, tooth paste, razors, and feminine products.

The Edelweiss has a number of roll away beds, full sized cribs, and “pack and play” type cribs available for its guests.  For each such unit there is a one time $40 fee charged per unit provided.  This fee is a one time fee per reservation/stay.  We ask/suggest that advanced reservations for these items be made to assure availability.

The Edelweiss is a non-smoking property.  We ask that all smoking be done in appropriate areas outside the building and off site and that all related debris be properly disposed of.   Smoking on Edelweiss balconies is strictly prohibited. A fine of up to $500 may be charged for violations of the no smoking policy.

Our lodging units are ADA compliant however you should contact the reservation staff to ensure appropriate access to all property facilities. The Ski School at Taos Ski Valley caters to handicapped skiers of all ages.

Nearly all business service needs can be arranged through our front desk (printing, scanning, internet, computer use while some services may need to be coordinated during normal business hours.

The Edelweiss has a multi-purpose room called “The Club Room”.  The Edelweiss’ Club Room measures 20’ x 25’ and tables and chairs can easily be arranged for theater seating (approx. 24 people), U-formation (approx. 24 people), or individual tables to best suit the groups’ needs.

The Club Room offer an integrated sounds system, wireless and Ethernet internet,  as well as complete audio-visual facilities.

Any food and beverage needs for meetings or retreats can generally be accommodated in house through the Blonde Bear Tavern and/or the Café with service in the Club Room or the neighboring property dining room.

Taos is an international destination.  The Taos Pueblo is a National Heritage site and is one of the most visited local destinations.  It is considered to be one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in the United States.  Other popular sites include the San Francisco de Assisi Mission church (the most photographed church in the US), the Harwood Museum, The Millicent Rogers Museum, The Greater World Community (a sustainable living community consisting of hundreds of Earthships), The Taos Gorge and various temples and ashrams.  Taos also famous for the ballooning trips over AND INTO the Rio Grande Gorge.  This wonderful one of a kind experience can be arranged in summer and winter.  The Taos Ski Valley Chamber of Commerce website is a great source of information regarding things to do in the winter and summer.

The Edelweiss spa staff provides their services in our treatments rooms located in the Edelweiss’ spa area.  We do not offer in room spa services and believe that treatments provided in the designated treatment rooms are the best treatments that can be provided in a safe and sanitary manner.

Simply give our capable front desk/concierge staff a call and we are happy to help with such special requests any way we can.  We are happy to make suggestions, coordinate deliveries, and even pick up items from town if provided with enough advanced notice.   

Taos Ski Valley offers childcare and children’s ski school services for children ages 3 months and up throughout the winter season during the hours of operation of the lifts.  The Edelweiss does not provide child care services.

Yes, the Edelweiss provides high speed internet access is available in all rooms as well as in the lounge area.  Internet service is available via wireless and Ethernet cable options with cables available at the front desk.   The Edelweiss generally has reliable broadband speed internet however it is worth noting that our remote location and severe storms may cause periodic internet outages outside our control.

The Edelweiss has an on site underground parking garage for its guests.  There is no charge for parking and each reservation for our condominiums (excludes Lock-Off Hotel unit reservations) is entitled to a single space in the Edelweiss’ garage with additional parking (at no cost) available in the nearly outdoor resort parking lots.  Occasionally, Lock-Off Unit reservations and additional vehicles may be parked in the Edelweiss’ underground garage if space allows.  Additional parking spaces cannot be guaranteed at the time of booking but are allowed with additional parking passes granted at the time of arrival however we will make notes of requests for additional parking passes at the time of booking.

All reservations will be secured with a credit card and an advanced deposit equal to 50% of the total projected stay value.  For all holiday season reservations (Christmas holiday season, President’s Day week, and Spring Break periods) the advanced deposit is non-refundable after 30 days prior to scheduled arrival. For cancellations prior to 30 days prior to arrival there cancellation fee equal to 15% of the paid deposit. The balance for holiday period reservations is subject to charge and non-refundable 14 days prior to scheduled arrival.

For all other periods any cancellation made up to 15 days prior to your scheduled arrival, 25% of the paid deposit or $150 (+tax) whichever is larger will be non-refundable. For cancellations made 14 days or less prior to your arrival, the full deposit is non-refundable.  For reservations outside of our holiday season, the balance is subject to charge and non-refundable 3 days prior to scheduled arrival.

Changing arrival and/or departure dates or unit types may be considered a cancellation subject to the policies stated above. There are no refunds for late arrivals or early departures regardless of circumstances.

To change or cancel a reservation and obtain a cancellation number, please call us at 575-737-6900 during normal business hours.

We accept cash, traveler’s checks, Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover.  For advanced deposits, we are happy to accept personal checks as well.

We are happy to receive shipments of skis and/or other personal items prior to your visit and to help arrange shipment of items back to your home upon your departure.

You may certainly ask.  If we have the staff and reservations before and/or after your stay allow for it, we are happy to let you stay and enjoy your unit (or an extra half day of skiing) with a late check out or early check in.  If the unit is not available, we welcome guests to use the garage, get/keep boot locker keys, and we can provide a place to change and store luggage so that extra hours can be well spent on the slopes.  In some circumstances a late check out or early check in may require a surcharge.

Check in is 4pm and check out is 11am however if prior and subsequent reservations allow, we are happy to provide for early check ins and late check outs when possible.  In some cases there may be an early check in or late check out fee assessed.
